GeoFurlong content is based upon the December 2025 Network Rail geospatial track model.
GeoFurlong publishes Network Fusion in the Rail Data Marketplace. This is a collection of free data files which aggregate railway, location, topographic, environmental, and geological data sources. See example of Shap on the West Coast Main Line.
Quick Start
The iconic Settle to Carlisle railway line is located on ELR SAC and LOR NW9901. An interactive map of the ELR displays marker points at 220 yard (or, one furlong) intervals along its length indicating the mileage. Google Map links for the principal stations and junctions along each ELR are provided - for example, Kirkby Stephen station. Google Map links are also provided every 220 yards along each ELR containing supplementary infrastructure features such as tunnels and viaducts - for example, Blea Moor viaduct. Further information and examples are contained within the Introduction.
